New polling in West Virginia has moved that state’s senate race to Leans Democratic from Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Senate Balance of Power rankings.
Polling a few days ago, moved Washington to Leans Democratic from Toss-Up.
Current projections suggest that the Democrats would hold 50 seats after Election Day while the Republicans would hold 45. Five states are in the Toss-Up category (California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, and Wisconsin). All five Toss-Ups are seats currently held by Democrats.
Republicans have the edge in four Democratic-held Senate seats–Arkansas, Indiana, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania.
At the moment, no Republican-held seats appear headed for the Democratic column.
Note: If the GOP is to retake the U.S. Senate this in 2010, it must net 10 Senate seats.
