O’Connell Weighs In On Jon Huntsman’s Chances In 2012 At Politico Arena

Ford O’Connell’s response to today’s Politico “The Arena” question, “Can Jon Huntsman win?”:

If Jon Huntsman can convince Republican primary voters that he was serving his country and not just the Obama administration, his foreign policy credentials could be a key differentiator in a crowded field. While Huntsman doesn’t have a check mark in every box on the conservative scorecard, he also doesn’t have a habit of trying to backfill and rework his record like some of the other candidates, nor does he appear to have the messy personal or professional baggage of others.

Huntsman certainly has a viable shot at this point; even more so if international issues demonstrate themselves to be a key driver of the domestic issues at the forefront of primary voters’ concerns come next January.
