Manassas Tea Party Fills Harris Pavilion

Harris Pavilion was the scene of the Manassas Tea Party‘s “Defend the Constitution” rally on Friday evening. Many in the crowd of more than 500 came to see featured speaker, state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R) at the Old Town event. Cuccinelli spoke mainly about Virginia’s lawsuit against the federal government over the insurance mandate included in the recently approved health care reform legislation. Cuccinelli said that Democrats in Washington are “ignoring and trampling” the Constitution. Other speakers talked about the nature of the Tea Party movement itself.

    We were EXPECTING 500 at this rally. The capacity of the pavilion is 1500 and folks were spilling out rows deep on the sides….there were at least 2000 people at this event.
