On Monday night in New Hampshire, Michele Bachmann declared that she is running for president in 2012 and showed why she belongs in the GOP conversation. But is Mrs. Bachmann in for the long haul? Only time will tell.
Now that Rep. Michele Bachmann is officially running for president, she is not running for re-election to her seat in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District.
But if her presidential hopes don’t pan out, could she keep the re-election plan – as a back-up plan?
“Legally she can’t have both committees open,” explained pollster Ed Goeas.
But could Bachmann suspend her presidential campaign, if it doesn’t work out, and re-open her House re-election campaign?
“Can she? Yes,” Goeas said. “Will she? That’s not on the plate right now.”
